Fear and Stress

I recently wrote a short entry about guilt and stress. Similar to guilt, fear is a major cause of stress. Fear of making mistakes or saying the wrong thing can often cause a “snowball effect” where the fear results in poorer performance, and then the poor performance makes you even more fearful.

Fear, like guilt, is usually unwarranted. If you made a mistake in the past, try to learn from it, but don’t let it hinder your performance in the future. Mistakes aren’t made on purpose, so forgive yourself and learn from the experience. Realize that you only learn and grow through your mistakes.

Soon I will revisit the topics of guilt and fear. They are two emotions that cause undue anxiety and stress in our society. Posted by Picasa
